We did not have a meeting in December because of bad weather. Today is pretty bad as well but at least we have a window between the rain storms.
Thank you to everyone on the board for helping to make our Holiday Boutique so successful. Thank you for the decorations, and especially the yummy food prepared by Ann and her daughter Sarah. We had rain leading up to the day of the event, but once again were blessed with good weather day of.
Treasurer’s report: Gil gave a quick repot on money made or donated to Studio 299 and expenses incurred for 2022. For actual number please contact Gil.
Gil mentioned that it is almost time to send out our annual Studio 299 membership letter. If anyone has anything they would like to include in this letter, please email Mediha. We want to give our membership a summery of what we are planning for 2023.
Mediha mentioned that Jenna Kern, organizer of 2023 Farmer’s Market has reached out to see if Studio 299 was interested in holding the Market on our site. Mediha said she was open to the idea and would canvas the board. That said, parking would be difficult, and there would be some cost to offset the impact on the property. In continued discussion, Jenna said they would continue to look at other options for the Market as well as Studio 299, but that they would love to have artist participation wherever the Market ended up.
Social Club: The social club which has been meeting for weekly line dancing is getting popular. Michaela wants to expand on the evening and is in the process of preparing membership cards and organizing activities. Some time in March she would like to host a social club membership drive for the community. Date has yet to be set.
Pottery studio: Ceramic classes start January 6. Erin Hall will be teaching every first Friday of the month. Students will pay $20.00 plus clay and kiln firing fees. The rest of the Fridays of the month will be open workshop for students attending class.
Quilting/sewing group: Ladies meet every month on the 3rd Saturday from 10-3.
We will plan a Quilt show some time the end of April beginning May to be included in a Fall Festival with other arts and food. We want to ask Creekside what day works best for them,, as we always include the plant sale of spring starts.
Mosaic Class: Sharon will have her popular mosaic class January 28, 10-1. $40 dollars will include to rock and all materials.
Credit Card: With all the new activity it was felt that studio 299 should have a credit card. Michaela Walston made a motion that Studio 299 get a Coast Central Credit Card. Sharon Grover second it. The board voted unanimously to approve a credit card, with Michaela Walston and Gil Saliba being the signers on the card. A Visa card would be best with a credit limit of $5000.
Meeting was adjourned at 6:10 PM
